Shaping It Together

I'll help you shape the day

Eloping means building a day from scratch. That's easier with someone local, and I have opinions you can borrow: which canals are quiet at which hour, where the light lands late in the afternoon, when the Jordaan empties out. Tell me what you're imagining and I'll help with locations and timing. I can also point you to a celebrant, hair and makeup, or a long lunch worth dressing up for.

Questions

Which days work best?: Tuesday through Friday. My weekends go to full weddings, so weekday elopements almost always find a date. Often on shorter notice than you'd expect.
We are not Dutch. Can we legally marry in Amsterdam?: Often yes, but it depends on your nationality and where you live. Check the Amsterdam municipality website and the Dutch government pages for the current rules. I can point you to them, but I'm your photographer, not your legal advisor.
What if we only want a symbolic ceremony?: Also beautiful, and much simpler. Many couples do the paperwork at home and hold the ceremony that counts here.
